There was something really very special about walking around the streets of Venice wearing this dress.

I always thought Katniss sounded a little bit pretentious saying that line in The Hunger Games but now I get what it means. Wearing this dress wasn't about how I looked wearing it, it was about how I felt wearing it. I felt confident and happy, like I was on top of the world.
Maybe it's the bright colour? The ruffles? Or the way it floats around my body, making it feel like I'm wearing nothing at all? It was such a liberating thing to wear.
It was funny, I got this message the day after I wore it: "I saw someone who looked just like you in a fantastic red dress." Turns out someone whom I hadn't seen in ages had spotted me in Venice wearing the dress.
