A HONEST BURGER
Just why this cosy London restaurant chain is the perfect hotspot for all your burger loving needs.
Recently, I was asked to write a comparative review of Honest Burgers to go alongside the one on citizenMag - view the original article here. Honest Burgers is a chain of sixteen restaurants across London but, last week, I made my way to the one near Liverpool St Station.
Over the past week, I've been trying to find the best word to sum up the decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. I'm going to settle on three words: rustic, indie and minimal. Think... modern furniture, sparse decor and antique basins... with chart music playing in the background. It also had elements of an old English pub mixed together with a cosmopolitan European feel.
The menu is just limited to burgers, as the name says. I ordered the chicken burger and requested for it to be plain, without all the extras. As you might have guessed, I'm a fussy eater. I have to say that I was very impressed. The burger came on a slightly toasted brioche style burger bun, with a nice un-processed piece of chicken breast. Two things that can annoy me about burgers are: soggy bread and processed burger meet - this had neither, which made me very happy.
"I have to say that I was very impressed."
I must mention the rosemary salt fries. Anyone that knows me, knows I'm crazy about rosemary and these were seasoned to perfection. Also, they weren't over-cooked and they were the perfect medium thickness.
They also do take-away, which it great, as it seems like a slightly more healthy fast-food alternative.
